Food for the Body and Hope for The Soul

Punk Rock Food Drive - Metal, Punk Rock Cannabis - San Diego BlatherCovid numbers are rising and with it, a rising unemployment and those who need a helping hand which is why this year Punk Rock Food Drive is especially important!  Since 2009, Punk Rock Food Drive ( PRFD ) has brought enough canned and non-perishable food items that has amounted to over 22,000 meals!  Punk Rock Food Drive is the brain child of local punk rock musicians  who have teamed up with the North County Food Bank. They also created Notes for Needs which funds this event and local organizations. have to and nobody is paying them to do it but every year those awesome guys at Punk Rock Food Drive come through. Pre-Covid, PRFD hosted all ages music events featuring many of San Diego’s local punk rock talent  ( EXAMPLE ). Admission was the donation of a couple of canned food items or monetary that was distributed to local food banks. We have all seen reports of that food banks are stretched horribly thin these days. Covid has robbed many of us of our jobs, our savings and we’re losing hope. Due to Covid, this year’s food drive will not include a live music event but the collection bin are distributed or you can donate online.

All through November, you can donate as an individual or make this an awesome canned food drive into a group activity with your neighbors, friends, family or co-workers.

Watch the following video featuring Jason York from Parade of Horribles for more information about the drop off bins for your canned and non-perishable foods!

Thank you!

Thank you for taking the time to drop by! I hope each of you are doing well. I know every year it’s seems that the need for food increases but this year it’s even worse. We have heard about the longer than normal lines for food. A good portion of those in line, never had to ask for assistance before Covid. Please consider donating to Punk Rock Food Drive or any local food distribution service. Like I said, you can make this a individual activity or fun social distance ( of course ) group activity! We all need food for the body and hope for the soul! Be safe and well always!
